The long hiatus finally draws to a close. And what a way to start the season. No huge villains, no kingdom devouring plots. It felt much more contained, more personal. And oh lawdy were the overtones strong. It was interesting, and I think it can serve for some good discussion. Also, is it just me, or have cutie marks become quite unstable in the last two seasons or so? Seems like everyone and their dog can steal cutie marks, or erase cutie marks, or something. Poor CMC, maybe they should look into snatching theirs off someone else.
OH, AND WE GOT A HUGE NEW MAP. This is gonna be gooooood. It's a long season ahead, and I hope you're all looking forward to it.

You're right, stealing cutie marks has become more common over time. Still, only extremely powerful characters like Twilight, Tirek and Starlight Glimmer have managed to do that, so I dare say it's still quite rare. Starlight got away, though, and we never learned her true motives, so when she comes back, the Mane Six better watch their backsides. Literally.
I wonder if those eight enchanted items of Mage Meadowbrook will be explored during the season or was that just a red herring? It's possible that Star Swirl the Bearded will finally make his long-awaited return and join Twilight in bringing Starlight down in the finale. That'd be awesome.
