Tree Sprites

Tree Sprites. Supposed children of Forest Demigod, Teldhara, these child-like demi-mortals are the shepherds of the forests. It is believed there is one Sprite for every fifty trees, though no accurate number can be confirmed.

Tree Sprites are, frankly, a mystery. They are most commonly sighted in Vostaria, though they can be found anywhere there are trees. Tree Sprites are hard to track due to their ability to merge with and travel through trees. Though largely androgynous, it is believed they take on a slightly male or female appearance, though the root of their choice is unknown. Tree Sprites have varying hair, skin, and eye color, though all seem to be related to colors of trees.

Tree Sprites rarely interact with mortals. Due largely to the felling of trees for assorted uses, Tree Sprites often fear and despise the Taoren and Feral. Despite this, should a mortal wander into their territory, Tree Sprites are rather playful if not mischievous. Travelers have reported many a lost good and hours spent wandering in circles due to the tricks of these creatures. It should be noted that Tree Sprites, though often seen in their humanoid form, can take the shape of any creature. Their true form is unknown, though scholars infer that they are simply part of their birth tree.
