I was not really sure what to expect going into season 4. With the rather uneasy ending of season 3 (due more to fuss from the community than actual issues of quality) and Equestria Girls, it remained to be seen where the new season would start off and where it would take us.

I look forward to what this season has in store, and I think starting off by hitting on the questions everyone has is a sign that the team knows what they have to do. I think everything is not going to be fine; I think it's going to be great.

OK, I just have to say this:

When a new villain appears who can ONLY be defeated by the Elements of Harmony, that will be a giant "OOPS!" moment for the Mane Six.

...Actually, now that I think about it, I foresee a "The Mane Six were the REAL Elements of Harmony all this time" plot point coming up.

That, or the box contains "Super Elements of Harmony".

But it seems the former is much more likely.

I'd guess those six keyholes refer to...The six background ponies? Jk :P
Still, I was super hyped for this premier and it didn't disappoint!:happybounce:

With a pretty awesome premiere and that mysterious box, Season 4 is off to a bright start...

Hey :iconesuka: , what were you're opinions on the Season 4 premiere? This question also applies to any brony reading this comment :).

I was very happy with it. Like i said in the description, I was somewhat put off by the end of season 3, mostly due to the community hissy fit rather than the quality of the episode itself, and Equestria Girls was a rather lacking experience. The premiere, considering this, had an excellent story, expanded on lore, employed the characters very naturally and addressed the issues people have been asking since the end of season 3, and (and this was nice to me) used existing elements (no pun intended) to set up the plot rather than introduce a new villain from nowhere.

This episode was a solid return to form, and I'm glad to see them owning their decisions and running with them rather than half-assing it and trying to ignore how things have changed. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this season runs from here.

Very good explanation, I for one think that getting rid of the Elements of Harmony was a good decision both by the characters and the writers themselves. Now instead of them using the elements to… , now they'll be able to overcome obstacles without them. I for one like the Equestria Girls movie, but one major problem I found was the humanized characters using their rainbow beam to save the high school, it just seemed too lazy for a climax since it's already been down in both Season 1 & 2's premieres, it just got old.

I for one hope DHX and Hasbro take more risks with this season, the part with Twilight sobbing over Celestia banishing Nightmare Moon in that flashback was very emotionally calamitous but with very good taste, and not just that, the whole ordeal with the Mane 5 believing Twilight should stay behind only to realize that they can't be torn apart really got to be :) . I also agree that introducing a new villain wasn't necessary for this premiere, and the part where it was revealed that Discord was partially responsible for the Everfree Forest infestation was actually pretty hilarious (BTW did you see Discord's cameo in the new opening of the show?)

What do you think is inside that chest that bloomed out of the flower at the end of the episode, maybe the keys that open it will be discovered in the Season 4 finale, or maybe separate keys will be in individual episodes? I don't know, but the chest is just making be hyped even more :iconpineappletardplz: . Maybe the chest has something to do with one of the Mane 6 discovering something about either friendship, Equestria itself, or symbolizing something related to an odyssey outside the realms of your basic children's cartoon.

I hope they do more stuff relating to more positive aspects of the brony fandom, episodes revolving around characters that absolutely need better episodes (ex. Fluttershy/Hurrican Fluttershy is one of the only spectacular episodes revolving about the character) , different settings than the ones they already have (maybe even locations outside Equestria) , and episodes that leave more of an impact just like the premiere, Apple Family Reunion didn't leave that much of an impact, except that part wear Apple Bloom performed the Wilhelm Scream. I absolutely hope the songs are as just as good as they were in previous seasons, heck, I even here the Discord musical number is going to be hilarious

Let me know what you want out of this new season and especially what you don't want to see

Actually, I don't think it was such a good idea. And I'm questioning as to WHY fans are thinking it was such a good idea.

In my honest opinion, the REAL purpose of the Elements of Harmony was to defeat villains.

They didn't use them to overcome ALL obstacles; just Nightmare Moon and Discord, nothing else(at least, as far as I know).

I think that, inside the chest, are the NEW AND IMPROVED Elements of Harmony. Probably called something like the "Super Elements of Harmony" or something.
